Education and Religious Formation

John 8:32 - If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and truth shall make you free.

Workshops In Prayer of Fr. Ignatius Larranaga

During a sequence of 15 weekly sessions neophytes receive an intensive course in prayer. They are introduced to biblical prayer, prayer with the psalms, mystical prayer and contemplative prayer; prayer in public and prayer in private. Through thanksgiving, petitioning, and pleading, there is teaching on how to worship God in spirit and truth, in and through an active life in the traditions of the Catholic faith. At the end, participants take part in a retreat using silence as a practice of deep prayer.

Workshops are given generally twice a year in Fall and Spring in either English or Spanish. For more information call the rectory: (201) 854-7006.

Religious education

Children, youth, young adults and adults Faith Formation

Classes for Children

For children of the parish is a continual program from Grades 1-9. All families with children in grades 1-9 not currently enrolled in a Catholic school should enroll their children in the Parish Religious Education Program.

The goal of religious education is to bring all people into close friendship with Christ. It is fitting then, that our children—who by their participation in the CCD program are coming to know Christ—can be joined to Him by receiving Him in Holy Communion. It must be understood that religious instruction and participation in the Mass each Sunday go hand in hand. Without regular participation in the Sunday Eucharist, the goal of religious education goes unmet. In addition, what your child will learn from religious education class depends on your support and reinforcement at home, attending Sunday Mass as a family, and family prayer.

RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

This is a journey for those who are not baptized seeking full membership in the Catholic Church or those baptized and seeking full membership in our Church. It is a process whereby these people share the scriptures, the teachings of Christ, the community of the Church.

Adult Faith Formation

Sunday scriptures, this group discusses and relates the Word of God to daily life and faith. Current issues in light of Church teachings are also clarified. This group is led by a parishoner.
